Francisco Martínez Garcá

Francisco Martínez García might already be known to one or the other alert theatergoer, because he came to Görlitz already in 2015 at the age of 21 and stayed two years as a dancer at our theater.

After the two seasons here in Görlitz, he was drawn back to Spain to study dance pedagogy and to show his own choreographies at festivals and competitions. During this time he also collaborated repeatedly with other choreographers.

He then returned to the Gerhart Hauptmann Theater in August 2019 and is now once again a permanent member of the dance company at our theater.

Francisco Martínez García was born in Onil, Alicante in Spain and received his training at the Escuela María Carbonell & Conservatorio Alicante in Spain. During his career as a dancer, he worked with dance companies such as Cía. Otra Danza (Asun Noalesa), Titoyaya Dansa (Gustavo Ramírez Sansano), Marcat Dance (Mario Bermudez Gil, Cathrine Coury) and danced in the production Bloodline under the artistic direction of Johannes Haertl.

Francisco won the Spanish title of Best Dancer of the Valencia Region, awarded by the APDCV (Professional Dancers Association of the Valencia Region). As a choreographer he has participated in numerous festivalsv such as Una Mañana en Danza, Abril En Danza, Festival GxF Santander, Circuito Bucles, La Fábrica de Hielo, La Terreta Balla, CC Tetuán, Cert. cor. Pasoados, SoloDuo Festival Cologne and Hier & Jetz Munich.
