Orly Azran is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Tel Aviv, Israel. She studied at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem and earned an MFA at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, at Tufts University, Boston, Massachusetts. Over the past forty years, she has exhibited her artwork extensively, including individual art projects and site-specific installations, as well as group exhibitions in the US and Israel.
Her works consist of scenographic installations in which space, the use of a variety of materials, and the participation of the viewer are of great significance. She refers to her work as "theater without actors," in which the viewer becomes an actor in the gallery space.
In Zerrinnerung, intriguing artworks from her latest exhibition Zichronika merge on our stage with the dancers to create a dance-visual treatise on the dissolution of memories.
