Viva Vivaldi!

An evening of short dance pieces to music by Antonio Vivaldi, created and performed by members of the wee dance company, "Viva Vivaldi!" was performed in two incarnations:

On July 3rd 2021 at the St. Marienthal Abbey by Ostritz: On this single occasion, this dance evening marked the inauguration of the Abbey's recently renovated amphitheatre as a performance venue, daring to break out of the confines of the Covid-19 performance ban, while at the same time bidding farewell both to some company dancers about to embark on their further professional journeys and to our beloved director Klaus Arauner, with our last production under his artistic direction, who was retiring after serving as the GHT artistic director for 13 years and a 36-year-long theatre career.

Realising this project in this unique venue was initiated and supported by the Theatre and Music Association Görlitz (Görlitzer Theater- und Musikverein) under the stewardship of chairperson Renate Winkler.

A year later, in June 2022 at the Obermühle Görlitz, the concept was realised anew with an almost entirely new programme of freshly choreographed dance miniatures.
